My daughter is learning to crochet because she saw me knitting. She's only 5, so her grandmother suggested crocheting as an alternative. I figured it would help her with her fine motor skills, attention span, and develop her problem solving skills. Besides, the time she spends with her grandmother is definitely worth more than anything else she could possibly learn while crocheting.
